My aspiration
Danish artist. Finish Mother and Egyptian Father. I am sensitive and mature with tonal and rhythmic skills. Love to improvise.
I am Danish artist that live in Copenhagen but was born in Cairo in Egypt where I only stayed a couple of months.
My Mom is Finish and my Father Egyptian. My parents meet in Copenhagen. They did not manage to stay together and that has shaped me as a very mature, independent, reflective, emotional and aspired person. Their different perspectives combined with Danish Culture and my life experience shapes they way I see and experience the world (A Finish, Egyptian and Danish Perspective combined with a life long curiosity). My song "My Heritage" captures my parents influence.. The Song "Why on Me" my fathers before I matured..
I wrote my first song December 1999. Before that and then I could not sing or create music. I woke up a late night. I used to get my energy out through running but I had been quite sick for a period. That night a couple of songs came to me even though I could not sing or play an instrument. The first songs that came to me was about my childhood. Since that I held on too singing and songwriting as an inspiration. The following 5 years I dreamt of making hit songs and even did a PhD in Management for the same reason. I knew it would could give me the flexibility due to my discipline to work on making "hits" as well. Well I graduated but did not make a single hit and had a lot of nice letters from the records companies. Amazing that they wrote me back considering the quality of what I developed. Still I loved it so I was not about to let my heart aspiration go. Still I did. For a while. Started working as a Policy Consultant, then as a management consultant to become a Chief Strategy Officer in a global company both being involved with a mature company group and start-ups. Still my hearts aspiration was not fulfilled. So 4 years ago after a long relationship I started to dedicate most of my free time for music and even integrating working on my vocal though the day.
I believe in integrating what I love in to my entire day. I practice when I drive to and back from Work and when possible in small work breaks and then again when everybody has left the workplace. For me music is not a hobby. Its my heart aspiration and I work systematically and hard everyday to transform my craft and sounds..
I have registered more than 170 songs and written many more. In 2017 I wrote more than 85 songs because I wanted to improve my writing. Also, I have shoot music videos in Copenhagen and on the Philippines and taken song lessons in Seattle and Copenhagen with different vocal coaches. I believe in building my own practice by integrating what inspires me from each and to where I want to go and who I am when I sing the most freely.
Now I focus on my vocals, compositions and from Summer 2018 doing all of the music composition. In the past I co-produced with Producers on composition. Sometimes making a draft composition. Other times starting from a base track. I always wrote, sang and took artistic charge but still found that I sometimes took the easy way out when I worked with someone good. Now I put more in to it and show who I am in the lyrics and compositions and when I am as free as possible. I still collab on the arrangements, mix and mastering. And I intend to collab more and more on music in the future. Right now I collab on the arrangment, mix and master with URI Avi Music and David Sivano.
My hope is that my journey can inspire others who are somewhere along the journey I have taken..A journey where I went from striving for success and perfecting my mind and body to opening my mind, body and heart and creating a life that integrates my heart aspiration.
